Loads that do not fit a standard trailer.
Some cargo is too heavy, too wide or too long to travel like ordinary freight. We move this kind of project cargo to sites across Tanzania, including ones to remote and hard-to-reach locations.
Every move is planned before the load is lifted: the route, the permits, the trailer and the way the load is secured. Our team have extensive knowledge of the complex local requirements for moving abnormal cargo.

What abnormal loads do we move?
Overweight loads
Cargo heavier than a standard trailer and road limits allow.
Oversized and out-of-gauge
Loads too wide, too long or too tall for a standard container or flatbed.
Project cargo
Heavy equipment and materials for mining, energy and infrastructure projects.
How is an abnormal load planned?
- 01
Consultation
We look at the cargo's weight, dimensions and lifting points, and agree the pick-up and delivery plan with you. We recommend contacting us as early as possible, even before the cargo ships, so the move can be planned efficiently and cost-effectively.
- 02
Route survey
We check the route for bridges, weight limits, overhead lines and tight turns before anything moves.
- 03
Permits and risk assessment
We apply for the abnormal load permits and assess the risks on the route, with a plan for each one.
- 04
The move
The load is secured on the right trailer and moved on the planned route. You get updates until it is delivered.
Project cargo
Mining, energy and infrastructure projects need heavy equipment and materials delivered to site, often in a set order and to a schedule. We plan the transport around the project: what arrives first, where it is offloaded, and which pieces need special trailers or permits.
When the cargo arrives by sea, we clear it at the port as well, so you deal with one contact for the whole delivery.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as an abnormal load?
A load that is heavier, wider, longer or taller than the standard limits for road vehicles. It needs a permit and a planned route to travel.
How early should we contact you?
As early as you can. Route surveys and permits take time, so sending the cargo details early gives us room to plan properly.
What information do you need for a quote?
The weight and dimensions of each piece, the lifting points if there are any, the pick-up location and the delivery site.
